Jeera futures are trading in negative terrain led by the fresh arrival in the spot markets amidst its subdued demand which have kept the speculators on the bay. The total fresh arrivals of around 7000 bags were reported at Unjha Mandi against 5000 bags from the previous day. Further, weakness of the commodity could also be tracked by its dwindling export demand since most of the importers prefer to import jeera from Syrian markets. The contract for February delivery was trading at Rs 16900.00, down by 0.24% or Rs 41.00 from its previous closing of Rs 16941.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 13236 lots.
