Axis Bank, India’s third largest private sector bank is planning to open 350 branches in the 2011-12 fiscal to take its products and services to more customers across the country. The bank is also planning to launch six additional branches in Mumbai taking the total number of branches in Maharashtra state to 181 by March 31, 2011. It is also planning to open 22 branches in Tamil Nadu, taking the total number of branches to 124 in the state by this month end. By the end of this fiscal, the bank will have a network of over 1300 branches and over 5900 ATMs across the country. The branches spread across more than 850 cities and towns, enabling the bank to reach out to a large cross-section of customers.
