English Translation

The rupee closed up by about 15 paise. However, the rupee opened at 48.54/55 and closed at 48.56/57 as compared to the previous close of 48.68/70. The dollar in the overseas market was weak against the currencies like yen and pound, the dealer said. In the forwards premia market, there was some selling with the six-month premia closing at 2.16 per cent (2.32 per cent) along with the 12-month at 1.84 per cent (1.85 per cent).
