शुक्रवार को भारतीय रूपया 24 पैसे से 49 स्तर के हरे के ख़िलाफ़ उच्च पर बंद हुआ। विदेशी मुद्रा के व्यापारियों ने कहा की रुपया आसार ने एशियन सूचकांक पर रिकवरी से 16 जनवरी को लगभग 277 अंक से बॉम्बे स्टॉक एक्सचेंज बेंचमार्क सेंसेक्स सहित सहायता की। इंटर बैंक विदेशी मुद्रा पर, 49.03/05 के पिछले बंद से 48.79/80 पर स्थानीय ईकाई फ़िर से उच्च पर शुरू हुई और अपनी शुरूआती स्तर के पास दिन में 48.79/81 डॉलर पर तय हुई थी। इसके अलावा, एक महीने के अपतटीय गैर प्रदेय अनुबंध भी 49.03/13 नीचे पर थे , जोकि हाजिर दर की तुलना में कमजोर थी। साथ ही, घरेलू मुद्रा को पौंड स्टर्लिंग के खिलाफ दिन 72.81/83 रुपए प्रति पौंड में 71.56/58 रुपए प्रति पौंड का पिछले करीब से समाप्त करने के लिए गिरा दिया. साथ ही, घरेलू मुद्रा पाउंड स्टर्लिंग के ख़िलाफ़ दिन के अंत में 72.81/83 रुपये प्रति पाउंड पर गिरा जिसका पिछली बारी 71.56/58 प्रति पाउंड पर बंद हुआ था।

English Translation

The Indian rupee on Friday closed higher by 24 paise to close at sub-49 level against the greenback. The traders in foreign exchange said the rupee sentiment was aided by recovery in Asian indices including the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex which jumped nearly 277 points on Jan 16. At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the local unit resumed higher at 48.79/80 from previous close of 49.03/05 and settled the day near its opening level of 48.79/81 a dollar. Apart from this, the one-month offshore non-deliverable forward contracts was also down at 49.03/13, which was weaker than the onshore spot rate. Also, the domestic currency dropped against the pound sterling to end the day at Rs 72.81/83 per pound from last close of Rs 71.56/58 per pound.
