भारतीय रुपया अमेरिकी मुद्रा की तुलना में 11 पैसे से 48.80/81 पर समाप्त हुआ। इंटर बैंक फॉरेन एक्सचेंज पर अस्थिर व्यापर में रूपया 48.48/50 प्रति डॉलर मजबूत खुला जो मंगलवार को 48.69/70 पर और आगे 48.37 की ऊचाई को छूटे हुए उन्नत हुआ। तेल साफ़ करने वालो से भी डॉलर की मांग की कमी के आभाव से भी प्रारंभिक दौर में रूपया वसूली में मदद मिली। 48.80/81 पर दिन समाप्त होने से पहले, यह कमज़ोर रूझान पर स्थानीय बाज़ार पर 48.93 से कम पर लुढ़का। इस बीच,7 जनवरी को एशियाई कारोबार में वैश्विक कच्चे तेल की कीमतें 48 डॉलर प्रति बैरल से ऊपर उद्धृत की गई। हालाँकि, रिज़र्व बैंक ऑफ़ इंडिया ने 48.61 रुपये डॉलर पर 65.72 रुपये के यूरो के साथ सन्दर्भ दर निर्धारित की है।

English Translation

The Indian rupee ended further lower by 11 paise to 48.80/81 as against the US currency. In volatile trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the rupee opened strong at 48.48/50 a dollar from the Tuesday''s close of 48.69/70 and advanced further to touch a high of 48.37. The lack of dollar demand from oil refiners also helped the rupee recovery in early stages. Before ending the day at 48.80/81, it dropped to a low of 48.93 on distinctly weak trends on local bourses. Meanwhile, in Asian trade the global crude oil prices were quoting above $48 a barrel on Jan 7. The Reserve Bank of India, however, fixed the reference rate for the dollar at Rs 48.61 along with the euro at Rs 65.72.
