भारतीय रुपया अपनी शुरूआती लाभ में थोड़ा थोड़ा कम हुआ परन्तु समापन घंटे के दौरान डॉलर में उठी मांग के कारण यू एस मुद्रा के खिलाफ 48.94/95 पर 31 पैसे से मजबूती पर बंद हुआ था। घरेलु मुद्रा 48.76 और 48.95 के बीच अनुक्रम में अपने आखिरी सप्ताह बंद 49.25/27 प्रति डॉलर से दिन के दौरान फ़िर से मजबूती से 48.86/88 प्रति डॉलर पर बढा। विदेशी मुद्रा डीलरों ने हालांकि कहा कि तेल साफ़ करने वाला सत्र के अन्तिम भाग में एम सी एक्स - एस एक्स फ्यूचर्स के वर्तमान अनुबंध की समाप्ति पर डॉलर खरीदा। हालांकि, रुपया को मज़बूत इक्विटी बाजार से समर्थन मिला जबकि भारतीय बेंचमार्क सेंसेक्स को सत्र के दौरान करीब 350 अंकों की वृद्धि हुई।

English Translation

The Indian rupee pared part of its early gains but still closed stronger by 31 paise at 48.94/95 against the US currency due to the picking up of the dollar demand during the closing hours. The domestic currency moved in a range between 48.76 and 48.95 during the day after resuming stronger at Rs 48.86/88 a dollar from its last weekend''s close of 49.25/27 a dollar. Forex dealers however said that the oil refiners bought dollars at the fag end of the session ahead of the expiry of current contract at the MCX-SX futures. However, rupee also drew support from a strong equity market as the Indian benchmark Sensex surged nearly 350 points during trading session.
